To say I’m beyond excited to finally launch this website that I have been thinking about for so long is an understatement. At last I have created a space where I am able to share my the knowledge, tips and everything else about sustainability that I have accumulated over the years. Although I can't know everything, my hope is that Stewards of the Earth is a place that everybody and anybody can learn something they didn’t know before and takes action to make the earth a better space. We have a long way to go, but I believe that in life you have the choice to do nothing or something, and I am choosing to do something.
I think 2020 has shown us just how vulnerable we and also the earth are and how if we don't change our ways and priorities, the clean and healthy future we all want won't become a reality. I’m not sure if that ‘living at peace with nature’ time will ever come about in my lifetime. However, I need to do my part as a passionate steward of the earth to allow my children and descendants the chance to live in a world that is closer to being at peace with nature than the world I was born into.
What I’m hoping to achieve with Stewards of the Earth is to provide useful, practical and inspirational tools and tips to living a more sustainable life. I’m personally very interested and passionate about sports, fashion, investing and food and I hope I can be a resource for the everyday person as well as the big corporations who are willing to make changes for the betterment of the planet. Both systemic/corporate and individual change are needed when it comes to tackling the climate crisis, and I hope Stewards of the Earth can help shed light on actual solutions that make the change happen.
I came across this saying not too long ago that has stuck with me and will do for the rest of my life:
“We have not inherited the planet from our ancestors, but instead we have borrowed it from our children”.
So let's all become Stewards of the Earth today, because there's no better time to start.
